The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $127,135- $145,000.

 

The role:

A successful candidate will lead and manage the growth of the Individual Philanthropy team and in part, leverage the CEO, CPO, and members of the Executive Team to create an excellent donor experience for all donors. This position provides strategic direction and leadership to manage key donor relationships, renew and upgrade existing donors, acquire new donors, and improve processes to have sustainable fundraising results.

 

Areas of responsibility include:

Establish and monitor revenue goals for a team.
Strengthen individual donor stewardship programs, strategize, and implement creative means of securing support.
Provide day-to-day management of Individual Philanthropy activities and effective leadership and mentoring of the Individual Philanthropy team.
Work with Silicon Valley philanthropists and their teams and are comfortable managing the team and your own portfolio of donors.
Prepare members of the Executive Team for solicitation and stewardship meetings with our top donors and prospects.
Closely collaborate with other departments, including Annual Giving, Marketing, Finance, Volunteer Engagement, HR and Development Operations/Analytics.
Lead with a collaborative style with both internal and external constituents.
Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Seven or more years of experience in fundraising, with ideally 3-5 years doing major gift fundraising.
Experience mentoring and coaching team to listen, collaborate, resolve conflicts, and create an excellent team atmosphere.
Experience with CRM systems and leading teams through adoption of new technologies are highly desirable.
Communication skills: Can deliver consistent, specific and clear communications; document decisions, employee performance, strategies, results, and recommendations; effective verbal and written communication.
Analytical thinking skills: Make data-driven decisions and adopt best practices and problem-solve resourcefully. Must be comfortable analyzing and interpreting data and trends and working with the team to develop forecasts and projections.
Time management: Prioritize projects in order of importance, delegate frequently, identify ideas that cannot be pursued and ask for specific support to accomplish goals. Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.

You have exhibited success in Silicon Valley fundraising with 5+ years of progressively increasing development experience and have done fundraising of 5-figure+ gifts from major donors.
Ideally have experience managing others.

You possess experience in capital campaigns and planned giving, with a track record of success.
You are skilled at empowering team members to create processes and systems to scale the program and maintain consistency and excellence of donor experience.
You are a thought partner across all fundraising channels to create cohesive, data informed fundraising strategies to sustain scaled revenue targets to support the business goals of the organization.
You have experience with change management and leading a team through the learning curve of adopting new technologies and processes.
You think out of the box – consistently recommending and implementing processes to improve fundraising strategies to grow community revenue.
