Hybrid (Remote/In Person), must live in Nebraska

Job purpose

Develop and deepen relationships with 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and other key community stakeholders to foster a culture of year round civic engagement in historically oppressed and underrepresented communities in Nebraska

Support Nebraska Table programming and Member and Partner organizing strategies, including Membership growth and stewardship

Represent the Nebraska Table in coalitions, at community events and convenings, and serve as a conduit of information between the Nebraska Table, its Members and Partners, and the broader community

Key Accountabilities 

Membership Development and Stewardship

● Chair Membership Selection Committee & collaborate with the Director of Equity & Community Partnerships to set and implement Membership strategies

● Implement regular Membership audits with an equity lasik approach, and advise Director of Equity & Community Partnerships on trends in Membership and Partnership retention, engagement, grievances, and developmental opportunities

● Oversee the Nebraska Table Membership and Partnership directory and email list as well as annual dues and MOU process

● Conduct Membership & Partnership evaluations and surveys; provide feedback that informs the organization’s annual work plan and broader programming

Coalition Convener and Nebraska Table Representative

● Represent the Nebraska Table at community meetings, events, and coalitions, and conduct community outreach activities in conjunction with other community events (e.g. tabling, presenting, etc.)

● Plan and facilitate training, convenings, and collaborative opportunities for Nebraska Table Members and Partners, particularly around shared areas of interest, in partnership with the Comms and Policy Team.

Programmatic Collaboration – Organizer School

● Assist with execution of Organizer School programming, at the direction of the Director of Equity & Community Partnerships, including administrative support, training and facilitation, communication, and mentorship of Organizer School participants

● Connect Organizer School participants to broader Nebraska Table Membership and Partnership as well as relevant coalitions

● Guide Organizer School participants about tactics, events, and, GOTV-related opportunities in collaboration with the Organizing Strategist

Qualifications

● Strong background in organizing work and coalition building

● Knowledge of 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), 527, etc. advocacy rules and regulations preferred

● Strong familiarity with the Nebraska political process and voting rules

● Broad understanding of the Nebraska nonprofit ecosphere

● Experience working with underrepresented and/or diverse communities

● Commitment to anti-racism, racial equity, and inclusion; commitment to building power to transform the lives of everyday people, especially those who experience oppression

● Volunteer management experience preferred but not required

Some physical activity, including canvassing, may be required. Extended periods of sitting in front of a computer
