Another Source’s client, California State University Fresno, is recruiting a Student Financial Services Lead to join their Student Financial Services team in Fresno, California.
Under general supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Student Financial Services Lead is responsible for the administration of daily cashier and student accounts operations, including student payments, receipt and processing of departmental deposits, financial aid payments and refund processing, accounts receivable, collections, and technical systems. The position will support the Assistant Controller in general supervision, advisement, training, and coaching of front and back-office staff. The position will provide overflow support for technical projects and initiatives.

Your Day Will Likely Include:
Administration of cashier, student accounts, collections, and technical operations
Analyze front and back-office transactions and processes to ensure conformance with established policies and procedures.
Monitor processes and identify gaps that may impact service-level expectations and recommend solutions to Assistant Controller.
Coordinate testing and deployment of new application releases with front and back-office teams and other campus community partners (ex: Financial Aid, Registration, Admissions).
Fulfill ad-hoc reporting requirements from administrative systems with PS Query and other reporting tools.
Gather and document business requirements from front and back-office staff or campus community for process improvement or projects/initiatives that require SFS technical support.
Provide troubleshooting support for front and back-office staff and processes
Research and resolve student accounts discrepancies and ensure they are reconciled with campus records.
Troubleshoot back-office inaccuracies, provide resolution, and share information.
Develop action plans to resolve issues, communicate to Assistant Controller and/or staff.
Collaborate with front and back-office staff in brainstorming sessions related to problem resolution or process improvement.
Overflow support for technical projects and initiatives (as needed)
Analyze system processes and outcomes to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
Participate in fit-gap sessions to identify root-cause and develop solutions.
Complete testing for new applications and/or changes to existing configurations.
Collaborate with end-users, analysts, functional area leaders, ITS, and campus community in resolving production errors.
Identify actual or potential problems and recommend corrective actions
Examine various front and back-office processes and identify gaps or potential problems.
Develop and submit ideas for corrective action for larger problems (actual or potential).
Support Assistant Controller in general supervision, advisement, coaching, and training
Identify opportunities for staff performance improvement and provide coaching and advisement as necessary.
Assist in monitoring service level of front and back office and mitigate problems with a variety of solutions (reallocation of resources, additional training, or troubleshooting, or providing back-up customer service support).
Monitor BPG’s (Business Process Guides) for front and back-office processes; Ensure timely updates as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience You Will Bring To The Organization:
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field and three years of related professional experience involving study, analysis and evaluation.
Working knowledge of and the ability to apply related executive orders, rules and regulations to develop conclusions and make recommendations.
Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques.
Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $50,040- $57,000.
