Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 commensurate with experience

 

About ExpandLA

VISION: The Expanded Learning Alliance (ExpandLA) is a countywide effort to reimagine where and when joyful learning happens by making the most of the time youth have beyond the school day. ExpandLA aims to create an equitable system of access for children and youth in the LA area to activate their limitless potential.

MISSION:  ExpandLA is an intermediary organization that supports, connects, and advocates for expanded learning opportunities that provide equitable access for all children and youth in the LA area. By working collaboratively with school-based and community-based expanded learning organizations, we will build systems, pathways, and processes that strengthen the field to nurture a young person’s natural curiosity, empower their self-development, and cultivate the value they bring to making the world a better place.

About the Position

ExpandLA is searching for a driven and highly motivated full time Admin & Operations Coordinator. The person will provide direct support to the executive staff and oversee various administrative and operations functions to help serve the mission and strategic goals of ExpandLA.

 

The Admin & Operations Coordinator is responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities for improved and enhanced operations. This position will work closely with the Managing Director to develop and implement strategies and processes to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.  The ideal candidate will have excellent organization, problem solving, communication skills, administrative and human resource experience.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative & Operations

  • Responsible for developing and implementing ExpandLA’s procedures and support the ExpandLA staff as needed
  • Implementing and improving HR systems including payroll, employee benefit administration, hiring, etc.
  • Provide administrative and logistics support for board and other ExpandLA meetings, events or initiatives; including notetaking and supporting with follow up
  • Provide administrative and logistics support for executive and managing director, including managing calendars, drafting communication and other admin support as needed.
  • Coordination with ExpandLA’s external finance consultant and staff to ensure internal controls and financial coordination
  • Manage onsite and digital records for the organization
  • Manage day-to day office needs, including supplies, equipment and other duties as required
  • Ensure staff have relevant equipment, hardware and software updates, and technology inventory
  • Manage customized ExpandLA member database

 

Project Coordination

  • Nurture meaningful relationships with providers, especially as it relates to areas that inform ExpandLA’s programming, collaborations, youth leadership, communications
  • Support the coordination of intermediary pilots or projects-based grants, as needed
  • Support with project management, as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in nonprofit administration or related field
  • Excellent database management skills, i.e. record keeping, analysis, research, and reporting
  • Experience with internal financial processing systems, banking, and/or tax filing preparation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Zoom, Google products, and an aptitude for learning new applications
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to develop strategies
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to excellence and accuracy
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion
    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a creative and innovative team
  • Commitment to social and racial justice, diversity, equity, equal access, and inclusion
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to communicate with a variety of audiences
  • A passion that aligns with ExpandLA’s core values and mission to advocate for, support, and connect expanded learning organizations so that all children and youth in the Los Angeles region have equitable access to expanded learning opportunities.

 

Desired Qualifications
