We work with decision makers at every level of government as well as regulators of energy markets to achieve this goal. Today, our industry employs more than 3.3 million Americans. Together, we are united in our mission to accelerate the transition to 100% clean energy in the United States.

Position Description

Advanced Energy United is seeking a candidate with excellent writing and communications skills with interest and/or experience in policy and political advocacy for an entry-level Associate position on our transmission campaign. The Associate will work collaboratively to support existing project teams to accelerate the buildout of needed transmission to achieve 100% clean energy.

There is no silver bullet to reaching 100% clean energy as a country. It will require maximizing the use of demand side resources, as well as the buildout of utility scale clean energy resources and the needed transmission infrastructure to connect the nation’s clean energy resources with its energy demand. This campaign is building support for transmission at all levels of government that is responsive to local objectives and existing state policies. It includes a recognition of the critical role of distributed energy resources in achieving full decarbonization and ensuring that needed transmission buildout will be cost-effective and politically sustainable.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with an interest in policy and politics, clean energy and climate, and will have a balanced skill set that includes both comfort with quantitative analysis and strong communications skills. The Associate will work collaboratively with project teams to build support for and advance Advanced Energy United’s transmission agenda in priority states. Candidates should be creative and flexible, with the ability to work in multiple venues with diverse stakeholders to support Advanced Energy United’s multi-state transmission campaign. Candidates will need to have the ability to travel to meet with United members, coalition allies and stakeholders, and public officials.
