Book Club


YNPNsfba Book Club is an active group of young nonprofit Bay Area professionals that meets bimonthly to discuss books, share ideas and questions related to nonprofit management, social change or related topics. Whether you are a job seeker, new to the nonprofit sector, or a seasoned leader, you’re more than welcome to join us. You can always email us at bookclubsf@ynpn.org for suggestions on future book selections. *For every book choice we read through the club, BookSmith (a local book store in the city ) gives each book club member a 15% discount for purchasing the book their bookstore in the Haight district, San Francisco. Socials


YNPNsfba Socials brings together the Young Nonprofit Professionals community and create opportunities to make connections, meet new people, and overall, have a good time. Socials are generally held the third Thursday of each month and range from happy hour gatherings to trivia nights to co-sponsored events with other Bay Area professional associations and networks. Please see calendar for further details. YNPN’s signature social event is an Annual Anniversary Party held each October. Whether you’re a job seeker, new to the nonprofit sector, or a seasoned leader, you are welcome to join us to make meaningful connections.

Career Development Series


The Career Development Committee produces the well-known Career Development Roundtable Series – featuring expert panels, insider knowledge, and facilitated networking. These interactive events target early career and/or young-at-heart professionals from the nonprofit sector as well as public and private spheres. Attendees attracted to these seminars share a common interest in strengthening the incoming generation of social sector leaders. Featured speakers and panelists share insider advice and mentoring to advance your career in the nonprofit sector.  Recent events include: Networking for Everyone; Leadership Development; and Transition to the Nonprofit Sector

YNPN/CompassPoint Workshops


YNPNsfba is proud to be a professional development partner of Compasspoint Nonprofit Services, a consulting, research, and training organization providing nonprofits with management tools, strategies, and resources to lead change in their communities. Each year, YNPN partners with CompassPoint to provide three to four discounted professional development workshops focused on the skills and strategies YNPN members need most. Topics range from Boards and Executive Management to Communications and Volunteer Management. Recent workshops include Face-to-Face Solicitations: Moving Your Prospects Toward Meaningful Gifts and Carving your Path to Excellence: Career Development for Young Professionals.
