Mission
YNPNsfba connects emerging leaders in our community as a force for good. We empower nonprofit professionals to create connections and opportunities for impact through peer-led programs and resource sharing.
What We Do
YNPN creates a supportive, inclusive atmosphere for members to make valuable connections, learn relevant skills, and connect with experts to advance their careers through professional development, networking and social opportunities. YNPN enhances the Bay Area nonprofit community by attracting talented young people to the sector, supporting nonprofit professionals in their work, and developing current and emerging leaders in the field.

History
Founded in 1997, YNPN was formed when a group of young non-profit professionals in San Francisco began to meet informally to discuss issues within the sector and offer tips on professional development. They decided to launch a peer network and the project was picked up by CompassPoint Nonprofit Services. Soon local leaders began forming chapters around the country and in 2004 YNPN National incorporated as an independent 501c3 to better serve YNPN’s growing national network and provide infrastructure for local chapters.
Today there are over 16 chapters around the country, with over 10,000 members, and is the premier peer network for young non-profit practitioners.
Today, CompassPoint continues to act as the fiscal sponsor of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network – San Francisco Bay Area Chapter (YNPNsfba).
